Concept shop (2021-2022)
940x270cm print on wallpaper, installed at Kunsthalle Vienna
Part of the series Protokolle, 2016- ongoing

Concept shop 2021-2022 consists of handwritten „protocols“ of the preparations and thus the conception of a shop is a shop is a shop. The wall-sized wallpaper documents a group process consisting of discussions, inputs, inspirations, problems and questions. It provides a fragmentary and non-linear insight from a subjective perspective – not everything is written down, not everything is legible, who speaks is not revealed. The translation of the spoken into the (hand)written word leads to mistakes and repetitions. Instead of individual speakers, what is said is interpreted as a common, proliferating discourse. Nevertheless, this doesn’t result in an explanation, but an image that serves as an almost decorative background display for other works. The discourse of the group gets appropriated and stands as a work of art in the space with the other works that have emerged from this discourse.

Concept shop is part of the series Protokolle, in which spoken word from various contexts (NSU Tribunal Cologne & NSU Trial Munich 2017; Parliament of Bodies, documenta 14; what is love/ about blank Pforzheim 2018; members‘ meeting of Kunstverein Anorak e.V 2021, published by HuM collective& DISTANZ Verlag and many more) is documented in handwriting and made accessible in various forms.
